Sports Medicine

Sporting and working dogs are athletes with high physical demands on their body. The incredible level of drive and commitment sports dogs have means that physical problems may be hard to spot and issues can go unnoticed until they become severe. Periodic assessments are therefore vital to identify potential issues before they develop, allowing your dog to continue doing what they love! Unlike other practitioners who provide online or clinic based fitness assessments I can come to your training facility to observe precisely how your dog is performing in real time. This deeper insight will allow for more accurate assessment and bespoke treatment planning.

Having completed a placement at the Win Clinic before going on to work at the internationally renowned SMART Clinic I have a wealth of experience of working with sports dogs alongside industry leading experts. Ensuring your dog has a robust foundation of strength, skill and balance is vital to reduce injury risk and ensure sporting longevity and peak performance. A comprehensive strength and conditioning program alongside their skills training should be a fundamental component of your dog's management plan. I am a Clinical Specialist in canine conditioning so I have the specialist skill set required to prescribe an effective, personalised and comprehensive fitness program to ensure your dog reaches peak physical condition . Massage and soft tissue treatment to optimise muscle function as well as electrotherapies to promote healing, recovery and regeneration of muscle fibres will also be provided as part of their management plan.
